I come to know Ivan as a friend through her
sister Rebecca who is my nursing classmate at Tsuen Wan Adventist Hospital.
At times, Rebecca would invite us to her house for visits during school breaks.
Rebecca told me that her beautiful upper room was built by her brother Ivan, I
was so impressed by the design and layout of the little lady's room. Ivan is a
man of good taste and a very family man looking after family members. I
also remember Ivan was a very helpful guy and knows a lot of fixing things in
the house. He is a real handy man, very capable.
As times go by, we got to know each other more and he
became like my younger brother. We used to talk about a lot of topics, about
marriage, studies, family, and holidays. He is the first one to give me the
book Adventist Home. I feel that Ivan is a very family man that he has a
passion for a loving family. I remember once he went to Northern
China («¢º¸ÀØ)
a very cold place. He took a lot of pictures on the local people lifestyle and
I made a comment, saying that they were so poor so pitiful, then Ivan said, "No,
they are not pitiful, they are very happy living there, if you ask them to live
in Hong Kong, they will not like it, just pray for them." I stopped for a
while to read the lines behind his comments and I find him a man of practical
wisdom and understanding of human life.
Since he is such a nice man, it is kind of hard to
see him suffering from this debilitating disease NPC. All the time I
knew a healthy Ivan and now he is dying in his young age. I also have to
learn to trust GOD for HIS very best for each
human being here on earth, for only GOD knows what is most
appropriate at each moment of our life, for He is the ONE who give us the
breath of life.
Ivan is a very very loving caring person that he is
real father to his sons.
